Introduction
Sushi Roll with Steak is a spin-off dish. It is an addition to the variety of sushi rolls that are famous nowadays. Lets be honest. Seafood is not everyone’s cup of tea. But why miss the fun of eating Sushi if you are not fond of seafood? Right!
Sushi rolls with Steak can be made in various ways. We can add any vegetables of our choice. We can also try any combination of sauces, like teriyaki Sauce and spicy mayo, or skip them altogether.
In my recipe, I will use steamed asparagus, carrots, and scallions. You can add any vegetable of your choice.
Ingredients
Nori | 6 sheets |
Rice | 3 cup cooked rice |
Carrots | 1 steamd and sliced |
Asparagus | 1 pound steamed |
Scallion | 1 handful |
Beef tenderloin | 1 1/4 lb |
Teriyaki Sauce | 1/4 cup |
Olive oil | 2 tsp |
Butter | 1 Tbsp |
Salt and Pepper | As per taste |
Instructions
- For Steak, preheat the pan. The beef cut should be at room temperature. If it’s refrigerated, take it out 30 minutes before. Sprinkle salt on both sides of the beef.
- When the pan is hot, drizzle some olive oil. Now put the Steak in the pan. Let it cook for 3-4 minutes on each side. Also, add some unsalted butter. For Sushi, I prefer medium rare. Don’t forget the sides. When the Steak is done according to your preference, dish it out.
- Take a sharp knife and cut the Steak into thin, long strips.
- For the Rice, use short-grain white Rice. Wash the Rice 3 to 4 times until the water becomes clear. This ensures that all starch comes out.

- Next, take rice vinegar, salt, and sugar. Mix the ingredients and microwave for 30 seconds.
- When the Rice is not so hot, mix the vinegar mixture with Ricethe using the cut and fold method.
- Take a Nori sheet on a bamboo sheet covered with plastic wrap. Put Rice on it. Spread evenly. Leave ½ 12-inch border from each side. Now flip the sheet. In the centre, put thinly sliced steamed carrots and asparagus. Next, take beef steak strips and place them on top of the vegetables.
- Top the beef with scallion.
- Using the bamboo mat, fold the roll tightly.
- Next, put beef strips on the roll, cover with plastic wrap, and cut it into 8 pieces.
- Remove the side pieces so you have six pieces of equal size.
- Drizzle Teriyaki sauce on the Sushi Roll.
- Your mouth-watering Sushi Roll with Steak is ready. Enjoy.
Tips
- Wet your hands before handling Rice. This will prevent Rice from sticking to your hands.
- Cover the bamboo mat with plastic wrap. This will save you lots of time cleaning the mat.
- Purchase the best quality beef for Steak.
